Whether you’re a newer or older anime fan, you’re bound to have heard a song from UVERworld. Like Asian Kung-Fu Generation, they have a sound that is quite unique and noticeable among the crowd.
According to Wikipedia, “Uverworld (stylized as UVERworld) is a Japanese rock band consisting of six members and originating from Kusatsu, Shiga. “Uverworld” is a term coined by the band members, combining the German word “über” (meaning “over”) with the English word “world” to form a phrase that means “crossing above the world”.”
I personally discovered this band through Bleach with the opening D-Tecnolife. I came across Core Pride through a ‘best openings’ compilation, and I started listening to their albums back then.
When I heard their opening “Odd Future” from My Hero Academia, I just knew it sounded familiar. It was the first opening from the series that I never skipped, and I’m sure many were obsessed with the line “I keep my ideals”.
