No other instrument can bring out the hidden beauty of a song like the piano. Thanks to the many pianists out there creating anime sheets with their own compositions, you have a lot of choices…but where do you start?
As a casual keyboardist in my youth, I considered songs I would have personally loved to play back then. I liked songs that were original piano pieces, or compositions that sounded like it could have been a piece made for piano. Pieces that anyone listening would be intrigued by as it brought back nostalgic or melancholic memories.
While there are some easier songs on this list, you won’t find songs with single note basslines or songs where the song hammers a single note many times to mimic the vocal melody. If you are looking for these super beginner casual songs, then check out Piano Gumi, Easy Piano Tutorial or Piano Hero on Youtube!
I have rated the difficulty of the songs below. Considering what I just said above, “Easy” would mean that there are slower left hand chords or arpeggios, and the right hand isn’t too complicated. If you have been playing keyboard for a while and are comfortable with basic pieces, you should be able to learn these within a few weeks if you were practicing daily.
“Intermediate” may be faster, have more notes on the right hand, requiring more coordination due to different timing, and more travelling, but it’s totally doable if you’ve been playing piano for a year or more seriously.
“Hard” would be for someone who has been professional training or has been playing piano for more than a handful of years. It’s fast, it’s complex, it’s all over the piano, but it’ll be worth it in the end haha
That’s my personal ranking, but watch the videos and determine it for yourself 🙂 My word is not law and I have not tried the majority of these songs to know for sure.
I did my best to find free sheets for all these songs. There’s a small handful where I was unsuccessful, but thought someone may be willing to pay as it is a beautiful song. Also note that the sheets you are linked to may not directly reflect the Youtube video attached. That is just so you have an idea of what the song could sound like played on piano.
