How Guitarists Can Benefit From Fiverr

What is Fiverr? Fiverr is an online marketplace for freelance services. Initially, every service used to be $5, thus the name Five-rr, but since I started using them around 2015, the prices were already above that. Though, some sellers still offer really cheap services!

I’ve used Fiverr for over 50 services at this point. The first few things I ordered were custom drawings, and logos for previous sites. I’m generally very satisfied and even surprised by the quality of my orders. The only thing I didn’t like too much was website design, which was why I started learning how to build and design sites myself.

This site’s logo (aka my band’s logo) was also created on here by supercalifra923, and I LOVE it! I told him the theme of the band, but didn’t have any solid ideas, so I gave him full freedom. And let’s just say, he delivered.

As a guitarist, I have also used Fiverr more than a handful of times. Usually for tabs which I couldn’t find, but also once for a backing track. The tabs were accurate, the quality of the midi files were great, and the sellers were always super helpful and enthusiastic as well.

Thus, after creating this blog, I signed up to be an affiliate for Fiverr. I really wanted other learners to benefit it, and also help talented freelancers get some business. If you click on a link in this article and order a service, I may get some financial compensation at no additional cost to you. If you’re interested in more information, please read my affiliate disclosure.

I’ve gathered a bunch of other services you as a new (or experienced guitarist) may want and could benefit from, and some examples of listings in that category.

UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: “No Longer Dreaming” Published!
If you’re a beginner or inexperienced musician who wants to break out in this competitive field, check out my new eBook! I started this blog when I was still a rookie guitarist with no experience, but with confidence and a plan, I created a band and we performed at a venue, conventions, and a festival in the span of 2 years.
As a solo musician, I’ve played for a church, got to be part of a high production music video, and was offered to perform at a huge event and play on an album. In this guide book, you’ll learn how to choose your style, niche & target audience, what to practice, how to find bandmates and organize rehearsals, how to promote yourself and/or your band, where to look for gigs, how to dress for photoshoots and the stage, how to network with people, and so much more! 1. Get Tabs or Chords For Songs

If you really REALLY want to learn a song and you are not at a level where you could learn it by ear, use Fiverr! This marketplace has so many talented guitarists who can learn songs by ear and write it out for you to learn. Whether you just need chords on a PDF, or are looking for detailed tabs on Guitar Pro along with midi tracks to listen you, you can get it all here.

Because these are made to order, you can always make requests (before ordering preferably. I usually contact all my sellers before purchasing). For example, maybe you would like it made in a different key to match your voice. Maybe you’d like a jazzier version made for your group. Or, if there’s a song that’s a bit too hard, you can request an easier version.

2. Get Fingerstyle Versions of Songs Made

Are you interested in fingerstyle, but can’t seem to find any tabs for the songs you really like? If you have an idea of a song that would sound great acoustically, go to Fiverr and ask someone to make them for you. Just like with tabs and chords above, you can always make special requests, such as a simpler version, or one that doesn’t need a capo.

3. Get Karaoke Versions of Songs

If you want to play the vocal part for a song but there is no karaoke or instrumental out there, Fiverr is a great place to get one made. Some freelancers have the tools to remove the vocals from the original track, while others have the skills or talents to recreate it for you.

4. Get Backing Tracks

Whether it’s a song you like or an original, have someone create it for you on Fiverr. As opposed to Karaoke versions, you’ll actually get a track without the guitar part (just drums, bass, and other instruments) so you can fill in the blank.

5. Get Lessons and Tips From Advanced Players

If you don’t have a local teacher, or don’t care for regular lessons, Fiverr can be a great place for a temporary tutor. If you’re struggling with a skill like fingerstyle or tapping, a couple lessons with an online teacher can be great.

If you don’t really care for live lessons, some can create an original video for you to reference when you want. Other teachers can also listen to you and what you want to accomplish, and let you know what steps to take next on your journey.

6. Get Exercises Created For You

Another service I see on here that others haven’t utilized much is having exercises created for you. This is especially useful if you can’t seem to find practice material online, or you want to work on a unique skill. If the beginner stuff is too easy, head to Fiverr to get some intermediate stuff made.

7. Get Professional Advice On Your Songs

If you are writing songs or solos, and you’re not sure what you can do to make it sound better or more original, why not check out Fiverr for professional advice? You can find producers and musicians here who will listen and be direct about the good and bad, and help you make a song you can be proud of. Maybe it will be the next big hit!

Conclusion

Have you used Fiverr in the past? Are there any services you’re interested in using now that you know of them? Perhaps you’re a music freelancer on this site and want to tell others about your services. Feel free to share anything in the comments below!
