Live Vessel Flute Music To Comfort, Edify, Minister To Your Loved Ones!

Ocarina Hymn Music

The Ocarina is a vessel flute with a sweet, soft and ethereal sound. I think it pairs beautifully with the classic Christian hymns many of us grew up with.  Hymns have deep, comforting, and encouraging lyrics, and their simple arrangement allows everyone to sing and remember them more easily.

Whether people acknowledge it or not, Music has Power, and God uses music as a means to unite His children and cause miracles to happen. We see trumpets being used to tear down Jericho’s walls (Joshua 6:1-21), we see David playing his lyre/harp for King Saul and his tormenting spirits fled (1 Samuel 16:14-23), we see Elisha requesting a minstrel in a time of distress, and God’s presence descending while they played (2 Kings 3:15), we see Paul and Silas singing praises in prison when a miraculous earthquake happened and set them free (Acts 16:25-26), and many more examples.

If you have a loved one who is seeking the comfort and encouragement of beautiful spiritual hymns, I would love to play for them and minister to their souls!

Hear The Ocarina Solo

You’re probably curious what the ocarina sounds like. The Ocarina is a vessel flute. Compared to the flute we all know, it is slightly softer, sweeter, and more ethereal. Some say it’s tone is even comparable to the human voice. I play the 12-hole Alto C ocarina which has a range from low A to high F, which is perfect for almost every hymn!

Here is a short video of me playing “Amazing Grace”, “Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing”, and “Jesus Paid It All” back-to-back. No microphone or filters. This is the ocarina’s natural sound and projection.

Samples From My Church

I’ve been playing the ocarina for my church every Sunday since March 2025. We would play 4 songs each week, thus I have quickly improve my playing and reading skills. So far, I’ve covered over 120 songs from their hymnal (Soul Stirring Songs & Hymns), and they are still giving me new hymns to learn every month! Since I may only cover a hymn 1-5 times a year, I would require sheet music to play most of them; however, I have made the effort to memorize 32 beloved hymns so I can be ready whenever needed.

Hymns in these clips include: “Brethren, We Have Met To Worship”, “O! Say, but I’m Glad”, “There Is Power In The Blood”, “To God Be The Glory”, “The Banner Of The Cross”, “Who Is On The Lord’s Side?”, “Jesus Saves”, “Dwelling In Beulah Land”, and “Joy To The World”.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

THerapeutic Music

Music is comforting to the soul and allows deep reflection and edification. My pastor often says ‘there is a sermon in a song’.
I am not a licensed musical therapist/counsellor, but neither was David. A heart submitted to God is what matters most. I’ve consecrated my life to God and would love to share the love and comfort I’ve received through music.

Retirement & Care Homes

To the elderly, hymns are often dear to their hearts and brings great comfort and joy. Music in general is a wonderful form of entertainment, but can also help their mental health, cognitive function, and physical well-being. Not to mention, help them draw close to God! They are free to listen, or they can hum and sing along~

Hospice (End-Of Life) Care

For hospice patients, music aids in reducing pain, anxiety, and blood pressure, while fostering comfort and connection in the final stages of life. It can even help stabilize breathing during the final stages of life. Music also helps reduce loneliness, fear, and depression, while encouraging spiritual reflection and emotional closure.

"But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him." 2 Kings 3:15

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR THIS SERVICE?
If you are interested in my service, first you will fill out this form which would include your contact information, details about the person you would like me to play for, a list of hymns to choose from, and available/preferred dates and times for the service. After I receive it, I will suggest dates that work for me and an invoice for the deposit ($100). Reschedules are free up to 2 hours before the service. Late/No shows will not receive any refunds; however, I may have grace and allow a free reschedule if the reason is understandable (ie last minute surgery/emergency), and I will offer refunds if the patient passed away.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES?
My online ocarina services start at $40 (Weekdays) or $50 (Weekends) for 30 Minutes, all memorized songs included.
You will only be charged extra if you would like songs outside of my memorized list. These are $3 for each familiar hymn, and $8 for every new hymn.

WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE? WHAT’S YOUR SCHEDULE LIKE?
I work from home and have a pretty flexible job, so I am available almost anytime Monday to Friday, exception being Wednesday evenings after 6PM as I attend my church’s bible study. As for weekends, I am generally free and at home; however, Saturdays are my Sabbath (day of rest), and after church Sunday mornings, my family may have plans in the afternoon, so I prefer to reserve weekends for special cases, and/or if weekdays aren’t possible for them.

HOW MUCH ADVANCED NOTICE DO YOU NEED?
In general, I would like at least 3 days notice, preferably more if you are choosing more than 4 songs that are not on my memorized list. If the person is a repeat client and we’ve already sorted out their schedule and preferred songs, 1-2 days notice is also possible.

HOW MANY SONGS CAN I CHOOSE?
Each hymn is on average 2 minutes long when played 3-4 times as written, some longer, some shorter. And thus a 30-minute session would allow me to play about 12-14 hymns when including time to switch between songs. However, you have the option to choose less songs with more repeats (especially if they are hymns the person really enjoys), or more songs with less repeats.

CAN I PICK HYMNS THAT ARE NOT ON YOUR LIST?
Of course! The songs above are simply songs I’m most familiar with as I grew up with them, are playing them at my current church, or have chosen to learn them for my own enjoyment. If you can find sheets for your hymn on
Hymnary.org along with a Youtube recording where it is sung so I can become more familiar with the rhythm and feel of the song, I can certainly learn the hymn for you. If you only have sheets, I can still learn by just reading, but it will take a little more time to ensure I got the rhythm and feel right. If you have no sheets, as long as I have a recording or video to reference (preferably in the key you desire), I can always learn it by ear, but that will take additional time to transcribe and/or memorize it.

DO I HAVE TO PICK EVERY SONG I WANT? CAN YOU CHOOSE FOR ME?
It really is up to you. Some people only want songs they or their loved ones know and desire to pick. Others are fine with anything, as long as they are hymns. You also have the option to pick a handful of hymns you really want and allow me to play whatever else for the remainder of the event. You can also let me know if you prefer slower/calming hymns, or more joyful/upbeat hymns. If given free rein, I will generally stick to the songs I have memorized, unless you’ve invested some budget into familiar songs as well.
